Carol-lynn Stirrat

Years of experience:

Special interest:

Carol-Lynn is committed to staying abreast with industry assessment and treatment trends across diagnostic groups through ongoing attendances of courses.

She has a special interest in chronic medical conditions, chronic pain, and psychiatric conditions and their impact on a person’s ability to work, with experience in functional capacity evaluations, disability management, vocational rehabilitation, vocational case management and return to work.

Hester M Van Biljon

Years of experience:
B (Occ Ther), M (Occ Ther), (UOVS), PhD (Wits)
Special interest:

Hester has a special interest in vocational rehabilitation, medico-legal work, healthcare ethics and research. In addition to her clinical work, Hester is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Stellenbosch and a section editor for the South African Journal of Occupational Therapy.

René Walker

Special interest:

René has experience in the field of paediatrics and vocational rehabilitation.

She has substantial experience in doing medico-legal work across different diagnostic groups and different ages.

Accredited mediator on the ADR Network panel with an interest in mediation of personal injury and medical negligence cases

Julie Whitlock

Years of experience:

Special interest:

Julie worked with community members with disabilities in the establishment of advocacy groups and creating employment opportunities.

She has a special interest in vocational rehabilitation and extensive experience in providing functional capacity evaluations and case management of clients with a range of conditions and disabilities, who are returning to work on the open labour market.


Phumla D. Motsa

Years of experience:

Special interest:

Phumla is passionate about improving the health care system, the experience of persons with disabilities and the transitional experience of ill or injured persons back into the workplace.

Phumla has a special interest in absenteeism and incapacity management, ergonomics, vocational rehabilitation, functional capacity evaluations and case management across various diagnosis.

Services Offered

Case Management

Vocational case management may include counselling and encouragement, referral to services, co-ordination of service provision, support and facilitation into work.

Work site evaluation

In the client's workplace the Occupational Therapist will primarily evaluate the environment, ergonomics and the inherent requirements of the job in order to make recommendations.
- Assess and identify those duties and tasks that are suitable for a worker.
- Identify and negotiate ways in which work tasks may be modified to meet work requirements.

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

We are trained in a variety of FCE approaches. An FCE is a comprehensive, systematic science based objective testing of an individual’s ability to perform work-related tasks.

Psychiatric FCE

We have therapists trained to administer the Psychiatric Functional Capacity Evaluator (PFCE)

Progressive Goal Attainment Programme (PGAP ®.)

An evidence -based treatment programme for reducing disability associated with pain, depression, cancer and other chronic health conditions.

Medico Legals

We provide Medico Legals assessment of adults and paediatric clients.

Ergonomics Consulting

Including assessment, recommendations, assistance with ordering equipment and check- in after delivery

Mediation in personal injury and medical negligence matters
